Materials:  Worsted  Weight 4 ply cotton yarn:

 Small Amounts of Red,  Green, White, and Yellow;

hook sizes I.

 

Beginning with yellow, chain 4, join to form a ring.

 

Rnd 1:  Ch 3, work 11 dc in ring (12 dc)

           Join with slip stitch in 3^rd chain of beginning ch-3.

           End off yellow.

 

Rnd 2:  Join red with sl st in any dc, * ch 7, sc in 2^nd ch from

           hook, hdc in next chain, dc in each of the next 2 ch, hdc

           in next chain, sc in last chain, sc in next dc.  Repeat from

           * around until a total of 12 petals are made. End last

           repeat with sl st to the 1^st sc, end off.

 

Rnd 3:  Join green with a sl st in any sc between the petals of

            last round.  * Ch 3, working behind petals, skip next

            petal, make 1 dc in the next sc between petals.  Repeat

            from * around, ending with ch 3.  Join  with sl st in the

            3^rd ch of beginning ch-3.

 

Rnd 4:  * Ch 8, sc in the 2^nd chain from hook, hdc in next ch,

            dc in next ch, tr in next chain, dc in next chain, hdc next

            ch, sc in last chain.  Make 3 sc in the next ch-3 space.

            Repeat from * around making 12 total petals; join with

            sl st at the base of 1^st petal.  End off.

 

 Rnd 5:  Join white with sl st in the 1^st sc of any 3 sc group of

             previous rnd.  Make 2 sc in the same sc, sc in middle sc;

             make 2 sc in the next sc.  * Holding green petal

            forward, make 2 sc in the 1^st sc of next group, sc in the

            middle sc, 2 sc in the last sc of the same group.  Repeat

            from * around, ending with sl st in 1^st sc.

 

Rnd 6:  Ch 3, dc in the next sc, YO hook, insert hook in top of

           next red petal and in next sc at the same time, YO, draw

           loop thru st and petal, complete as for dc, dc in the next

           sc, * ch 1, skip next sc, dc in the next 2 sc, work next dc

           and catch the tip of next red petal as before and make

           dc in next sc.  Repeat from * around, ending with ch 1,

             skip 1 stitch, join with sl st to top of beginning ch-3.

 

Rnd 7:  Ch 3, dc in every dc and dc in every ch-1 sp around. join

           with sl st to top of beginning ch-3.

 

Rnd 8:  Ch 10 or more (for hanging thingie), join it with a sl st in the same st, make a dc in next dc, * dc in next dc and catch the tip of the next green petal as before, dc in the next 4 dc.  Repeat from * around,  joining to the base of the hanging loop.  End off and weave in ends.
