Variegated Thread Christmas Ornament

VARIEGATED THREAD CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT

Materials: Bedspread weight cotton thread, size 10, Christmas variegated or color of choice, Size 6 hook.

Finished Size: Approximately 2 3/4 inches across.

Chain 6, join to form a ring.

Rnd 1: Ch 3, dc in the same dc, * ch 2, make a 2 dc cluster:

(YO, pull up a loop in the ring, YO, draw

thread through 2 loops on hook) twice,

YO, draw through all loops on hook.

Repeat from * 8 times, join to the top of the first Cluster.

(10 clusters)

Rnd 2: Ch 3, make a beginning 4 dc cluster:

(YO, draw up a loop in the top of the 2 dc cluster,

YO, pull thread through 2 loops on hook) 3 times,

YO, pull thread through all 4 loops on hook,

* ch 5, make a 4 dc Cluster:

(YO, draw up a loop in the top of the next 2 dc cluster,

YO, pull thread through 2 loops on hook) 4 times, YO,

pull thread through all 5 loops on hook.

Repeat from * 8 times, join to the top of the first Cluster.

Rnd 3: Slip st into ch-5 sp, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in the same sp,

* 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in the next ch-5 sp, repeat from * 8 times,

join to the top of the ch-3.

Rnd 4: Ch 3, make a beginning 3 dc cluster:

(YO, insert hook into next dc, pull up a loop,

YO, draw thread through 2 sts) 2 times,

YO, draw thread through all loops on the hook.

ch 2, dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 2, make a 3 dc cluster:

[ *(YO, insert hook in next dc, pull up a loop,

YO, draw thread through 2 sts) 3 times,

YO, draw thread through all loops on hook *.

repeat between * and * once. Ch 2, dc in next ch sp, ch 2],

repeat between [ and ] around, slip st in top of beginning 3 dc

cluster, join with slip st in the beginning ch-3.

HANGING LOOP: Chain 30, slip st in the same beginning ch-3.

Finish off, weave in ends.
