Christmas Rose Granny Square

Materials: Red, Green and White Worsted Weight Yarn; Size H hook.
Finished size: Approx. 6 inches across.
Stitches:
Beg dc Corner: Work (ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in indicated space
Dc Corner: (3 dc, 2 dc,
3 dc) in indicated space.
Beg. hdc Corner: Work (ch 2, 2 hdc, ch 2, 3 hdc) in indicated
space.
Hdc Corner: Work (3 hdc, ch 2, 3 hdc) in indicated space.
Instructions: Beginning at center with Red, ch 6, join to form ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 2 dc in ring, ch 3, turn.
* Tr in the 1st dc, work 2 tr in each of the next 2 dc
(first petal made). Ch 1, turn. Working behind the petals,
work 3 dc in ring, ch 3, turn. Repeat from * 7 more
times for a total of 8 petals. End with ch 1, turn, join to
top of beg. ch.
Rnd 2: Work beginning dc corner in ch-1 sp behind same petal
for 1st corner. Ch 2, work 3 dc in ch-1 sp, behind next
petal, ch 1. * Work dc corner in next ch-1 sp, ch 2.
Work 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1. Repeat from * around.
Join with sl st in top of beg. ch. Fasten off Red.
Rnd 3: Attach Green yarn in the ch-1 sp of any corner and work
beg. dc corner, ch 1. *3 dc, ch 1 in each of the next 2 ch-1
sps. Work dc corner in the next ch-1 sp, ch 1. Repeat
from * around, join with sl st in top of beg ch. Fasten off
Green.
Rnd 4: Attach White yarn to any corner
and work beg hdc
corner, ch 1. *3 hdc, ch 1 in each ch-1 sp to next corner,
work hdc corner. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st
in top of beg. ch.
Rnd 5: Continuing with White sl st into the next ch-1 corner,
make a beg. hdc corner, ch 1. *Make 3 hdc, ch 1 in each
ch-1 sp to the next hdc corner; make an hdc corner.
Repeat from * around, join.
Rnd 6: Ch 2, made an hdc in each stitch, with 2 hdc in each
corner ch-2 sp, around. Join with sl st in top of 1st hdc.
Finish off and weave in all ends.
