~~ Heads-Up all my Diabetic Friends ~~
Why I haven't been around so much lately.
I've been diabetic since 1994 and
was finally put on insulin on June 22, 2006. At that time tests discovered
that my potassiuim was sky-high - - and so was my Creatinine. We got
my postassium down to within (out of danger) fair control, without heart damage.
Creatinine is one measurement of kidney function. Once the creatinine level rises
there is no going back to normal. There is already a level of kidney failure
which could eventually leads to kidney dialysis.
On my next page, I've begun by listing a siimple 1600 Calorie Diabetic Diet,
the diet recommended by the ADA and all the doctors that I know. and then the 1600 Calorie Diabetic
Renal Diet that I'm on for now. I will add to this as I learn more.
The best thing I can possibly do (along with
taking care of myself) is to tell my diabetic friends out there to keep
your blood sugars and blood pressures normal, don't eat salt, and STAY ON YOUR DIET!
These simple measures could keep you out of "the chair". God Bless you and I'll help all that I can - - - Please
pray for me and read what I have. - - Hugs, Joyce
